Sony Santa Monica Studio has once again reiterated that God of War Ragnarok will launch on PS4 and PS5 in 2022, following a brief video from Cory Barlog that it’s not quite ready to showcase more of the highly anticipated sequel.

The studio’s animation director, Bruno Velazquez, also tweeted out the video posted by Barlog, and was asked by a fan if he could promise the game was out this year. In response, he replied, “Ragnarok is coming this year.”

This isn’t the only time that the company has reassured gamers that God of War Ragnarok is out this year, and probably won’t be the last.

God of War Ragnarok is the follow-up to 2018’s God of War, and picks up with Kratos and Atreus three years after the events of the game’s predecessor. Now a teenager, Atreus seeks answers to questions surrounding his newly-discovered identity, as well as attempting to prevent the titular Ragnarok from transpiring.

God of War Ragnarok is in development for PS4 and PS5 and will launch in 2022.
